The traditional roles of airlines and airports - and the interaction between them - were clear for many decades. Transporting passengers and cargo was their core business; the airport was merely there to facilitate the airline. Today, these roles have changed: airports have become economic centres in their own right, generating substantial added value to national and regional economies. Air transport has become a cheap and fast means of transport for people and goods, resulting in an ever increasing demand for more capacity.
At the same time, however, the aviation industry needs to respond to growing public awareness and concern regarding environmental and safety & security issues. Accommodating this growth within acceptable environmental and operational safety limits is a great challenge. It requires know-how and expertise in a range of disciplines so wide it cannot normally be found in a single organisation or company.
Dutch Aviation Group was established with the objective to respond to this challenge, by combining the resources of a number of companies and organisation each offering complementary services in this field.
Members of the Dutch Aviation Group offer its services to governments, airports and airlines, as well as to the general public. We believe that, with our know-how and expertise, we can serve the community by supporting a sustainable growth of its aviation industry.
Dutch Aviation Group organizes every spring an informal gathering with all the relevent decisionmakers in the Netherlands aviation industry and every fall a symposium is held with focus on the priorities for the industry. With these activities the Dutch Aviation hopes to contribute to the wellbeing of aviation society in The Netherlands.
