update : Air Cargo Claims module for Airlines
We have made several new updates to the Air Cargo Claim which you should see in your account(s).
First of all, there’s a significant change to the way to the arrangement of data for Airlines / Handler:
On the left side there’s the data submitted by the claimant in one single panel. Make corrections here only if necessary (for example when receiving another message or fax with corrections).
One of the biggest changes is the “Claim Aspects” area which now shows very clearly (color coded) what the claimant reports.
On the right side there’s the renewed “handling” panel, which contains all the information required for handling, organized into three sections:
“Handling details”, top
“Liability calculation, middle
“Settlement”, bottom
We have several new automatically calculated fields, first one is the Claim in local currency (which in your case should probably be SAR or USD).
Below “Max Liability” can be calculated by the system automatically or entered manually:
The value which appears in “Max liability” is “Mishandled Weight” * 19 * Rate from XDR to whatever currency you select in the field “Max liability”.
The system defaults on “Automatic Calculation” but it can be switched to manual if necessary, in which case Weight is ignored and instead you can type any value into “Max liability”.
To do so, first switch auto-calculation off, SAVE ONCE (Necessary for the server to know that you’re switching to manual), then open editing again and enter your value manually.
The exchange rate is retrieved automatically from our partner CurrencyLayer on your selected “Exchange Date”, and then displayed nearby.
Example:
Please be aware, the currency rate is retrieved and values are calculated ONLY ON SAVING, so make sure you press save (this starts communication with the server and does the processing).
Nothing happens until you press SAVE, it’s just a form on your own computer.
Moving below, we have the Settlement area, in which automatic calculation is done again on Payed Amount, between the two selected currencies.
The date used is the “Actual Claim Date” field, so please make sure you set that in order for the calculation to work.

Finally, we have put an update version of the printable settlement form.
It should contain most values that you need, but we probably need to have another meeting to understand exactly what else needs to be there.
Please know that this screen IS EDITABLE, you can type on the form anything you want before pressing the print button !
(Make corrections to values or add information which is not retrieved by default)
However, this is just for printing purposes, if you type something here it is NOT saved. You have to use the “data panels” in order for the system to remember changes and SAVE.
We have made a lot of transformations into our software to make this possible, and will continue to improve it as our understanding of the handling process increases.
